PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS: Learn about Mexican culture and history while living with a Mexican family in the city of Cuernavaca, Mexico. Earn up to 6 transfer units of credit in Chicano Studies in 4 weeks, and enjoy exciting field trips, excursions, and cultural events.
Students should register in two of the classes listed below:

Chicano Studies 125 The History of Mexico 3 units
Chicano Studies 155 Ancient Civilizations of Meso-America 3 units
INSTRUCTORS: Carlos von Son & Consuelo López-Aramburo
COST: The cost for 4 weeks is $1,386.00 plus airfare (approximately $650 round trip) due at the Universidad Internacional. The package includes academic fees for Universidad Internacional and use of facilities, readers, and photocopies. Also, the package includes daily room and board (all meals) and airport transfers from Mexico City to Cuernavaca for those traveling with the group. Not included are air transportation costs from San Diego to Mexico City and back, health insurance (required) and Palomar College registration fees ($20.00 per unit for California residents = $120.00 for six units payable to Palomar College before departure).
EXCURSIONS: At least three required excursions (payable at time of excursion) and many optional excursions to surrounding areas will be available during mid-week and/or on weekends at reasonable costs. Pyramids of Teotihuacan, Teopanzolco, Tenochtitlan, Chalcatzingo, Xochicalco, and historical sites in Taxco, Puebla, Morelia, and Mexico City are some of the places that we will visit.
INFORMATION MEETING: Information and orientation meetings will be held at Palomar College on Fridays at the end of Fall 06 and throughout Spring 07 semesters. PROGRAM DEADLINES: Program in Cuernavaca: Universidad Internacional fees due on arrival at the school in Cuernavaca at the cashier’s office ($1,386.00).
Airfare: Deposit to Ava Travel due by April 21, 2006 and the full balance due by May 12.
Palomar Registration fees are due by June 5, 2006 at Palomar College (six units).
