I received my Ph.D. in Neuroscience from UCLA in 2004. My dissertation research was done under Dr. Mark S. Cohen, in the UCLA Brain Mapping division. We conducted experiments involving fMRI of individuals undergoing several weeks of inverted vision.

I am now an assistant professor of physiology at Palomar College.

My wife, Ellen Albistegui-DuBois, has a great deal of knowledge of musicology, music history, and the performance of early music. In addition, she teaches preschool in Carlsbad, California.

I have two children, Kieran (6 years old) and Xavier (3 years old).
