About Me

As you may already know, my name is Wing Cheung.  I am currently an Assistant Professor of Geography at Palomar College located in San Marcos, California.

I received my Masters of Public Affairs (MPA) and Masters of Science in Environmental Science (MSES) degrees from Indiana University, Bloomington in Indiana.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts in History, and Bachelor of Arts in Geography/Environmental Studies degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles. My research interest includes hydrologic modeling, social applications of GIS and RS, natural resources management, and uncovering new applications of GIS and RS.

I grew up in Alhambra, California. When I am not slaving away in front of a computer or writing lessons, you may find me in a limited number of places, which may include (but not limited to): supermarket (buying food so I can continue slaving away afterwards), beach (trying to surf, but probably more trying to stay afloat), tennis courts (picking up and hitting balls in a wild manner, but probably more of the former), and mall (looking at prices of various merchandises hoping I will win the lottery one day).

My favorite TV shows include Family Guy, The Office, and The Daily Show.  My current and near-future reading list includes books like The Population Explosion by Paul and Ann Ehrlich, Getting to Know ArcObjects by Robert Burke.
